This is the heading Again, I chose not to edit this quote for inclusivity to keep the integrity of the quote. It still relates to all of us in that we can get so caught up in the glamors of writing fame: the travel, the speaking gigs, the celebrity, that we stop writing.
It’s kinda true.
We live in a world where we truly are privileged to be able to write. We owe the people before us, and the ones who come after, to tell the human story.
Do the research. Know your characters better than you know yourself. Create a world as real as our own. One-eighth of that knowledge will show up in your work, but the reader will feel that the rest is there.
